Greetings, fellow Everly Bothers Fans. I have been digging around in some old photos of Don, Phil and some of their girlfriends and wives, spanning the entire period of their remarkable, prolific and just plain EXCELLENT career. Of course, we will never completely bounce back following the shocking death of Phil, who, at 74 years of age, lost his battle with Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease. My father died of the same illness just eight months later. Both are sorely missed, but they are at peace, free of their cruel affliction and will live forever in our memories.
There are many more pictures in my collection, although because of my many moves from one place to another, some of them have been misplaced, much to my chagrin.
But there plenty more coming, as soon as I can get to the computer store and buy a new one, as the scanner fell apart after only one use.
If we have to be "physically distanced" from the world outside, as well as family and friends, no Covid-19 can stop us from playing our beloved Everly records (I have then all and working record player) and enjoying every second of those soaring, incredible harmonies. I love the Facebook fan groups. I may not have posted much, due to one crisis after another, but that's about to change.
I hope you will enjoy the material that is being featured on this blog. Along with pictures, there will be original fan fiction, poems and fun-producing material to keep us wrapped in Everly magic.
And kudos to Pat Eadie, who I was fortunate to meet at an Everly concert at the Beverly Hills Hotel where they played a week-long gig. She had a penchant for following the guys around with a camera, but not in an intrusive, paparazzi-like manner. I wonder where she is these days?
